This book is a fascinating voyage into the history of this medieval fortress that stands between Cannero and Cannobio on Lake Maggiore, and the bold restoration project that transformed the ruins of this area into an innovative multimedia museum. In the work, published by Scalpendi Editore, the diverse perspectives of the studies conducted create a detailed picture of the past and future of the Castles of Cannero. The authors are Lorena Barale, a Borromeo archivist; Marco Carminati, a journalist for Il Sole 24 Ore and expert in medieval art; Francesca Garanzini of the Piedmont Archaeological Superintendency; Paolo Lampugnani, an archaeologist; and Salvatore Simonetti, an architect and creator of the restoration project. The text is accompanied by full-page photographs and images of historic documents.
